How I use it
Docker packages applications and their dependencies into containers that run consistently across different operating systems and hardware. For Drupal development, this eliminates many of the "works on my machine" problems that traditionally slowed down projects and complicated onboarding.
I use Docker extensively through DDEV to create local Drupal environments that closely mirror production. Every project includes the same versions of PHP, MariaDB, web servers, and supporting services, allowing new environments to be created in minutes instead of hours. This consistency has become an important part of my day-to-day development workflow.
For clients, containerization reduces setup time, improves reliability across development teams, and makes projects significantly easier to maintain over their lifetime.
