Why I use it

I don't build new Drupal 6 websites today, but I still value the experience I gained during that era. Many organizations continue to modernize long-lived Drupal platforms, and understanding where those systems came from often makes it easier to determine where they should go next.

How I use it

Drupal 6 represented a major step forward in my consulting career. During this period I worked on increasingly sophisticated Drupal implementations, developing custom modules, refining themes, integrating external systems, and helping organizations extend Drupal well beyond its out-of-the-box capabilities.

Many of the architectural patterns that continue to influence my work today were developed during the Drupal 6 era. Although modern Drupal has evolved considerably, the experience of working with Drupal 6 taught me how to balance flexibility, maintainability, and long-term planning in complex web applications.

For clients, this experience means I understand not only how modern Drupal works, but also how many legacy systems were originally designed, making modernization and migration projects much easier to evaluate and execute.
