Why I use it

What keeps me coming back to Smartsheet is its versatility. I originally started using it for project management, but over time it replaced many of the spreadsheets and planning documents I previously maintained in Excel and Microsoft Project. It's lightweight enough that people actually use it, yet powerful enough to support surprisingly sophisticated workflows. The ability to easily share information with clients and collaborate in real time has made it one of the most useful productivity tools in my toolbox.

How I use it

Smartsheet combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with many of the capabilities found in traditional project management software. It supports collaborative planning, task management, reporting, dashboards, and workflow automation while remaining approachable for both technical and non-technical users.

I was introduced to Smartsheet while working there, and it quickly became one of the tools I use most often. Beyond managing project schedules, I've relied on it for personal finance, bug tracking, website content management, client collaboration, and day-to-day planning. Its flexibility makes it equally effective for organizing simple lists or coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

For clients, Smartsheet provides a lightweight collaboration platform that encourages transparency without requiring the overhead of more complex project management systems. It allows everyone involved to see progress, contribute updates, and stay aligned throughout the life of a project.
