I joined the team at Fluke Networks in July of 2015, brought in to assist with a particularly challenging upgrade from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7. During this time, I performed code quality and site performance audits to identify issues within the website. I planned and developed new migration plans, using custom-written code to mitigate for the data mapping issues that the team had encountered in their initial efforts.
While this was happening, much of the web team was spun off to another company, NetScout, which temporarily reduced our team to only two members. This sudden shift in personnel was a particular challenge that threatened to delay planned projects for months.
In response, I took charge of web development at Fluke Networks and began reworking our approach to use newly-defined best practices. Working with executive management, I created a multi-year development roadmap for planning and scoping. I led technical design meetings, conducted code reviews and conducted training for newly-hired development team members and coordinated with offshore contractors. To improve our responsiveness as a team, I implemented Agile development methodologies, enabling the team to better respond to evolving business needs. I also facilitated moving the website to a cloud hosting environment, solving a number of key legacy hosting issues that had slowed development processes at Fluke Networks for years prior.
I designed and created numerous custom modules in Drupal 7, including integrations with Salesforce and Marketo, single sign-on with the LinkWareTM Live web application, and for ensuring GDPR compliance. I led efforts in internationalization as well, working with translations.com to create and maintain multilingual versions of the website. I helped introduce a web presence in China, a particular challenge that required extensive documentation and research.
In addition to my web development responsibilities, I was often call to act as a technical resource, consulting with other departments on emerging technologies.
